"The Certified Public Bookkeeper (CPB) license is the most recognized and prestigious bookkeeper accreditation. The CPB is the equivalent in the bookkeeping profession to what the CPA is in the accounting profession.
The CPB license serves to protect the public interest by ensuring that only qualified individuals become licensed. This license provides assurance to small business and nonprofit owners and employees that CPBs are trusted and competent public bookkeepers. The license is the public bookkeeping profession's highest form of assurance." David Bybee, NACPB
Certified Public Bookkeeper
National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers Salt Lake City, Utah
"NACPB is an association of professional bookkeepers providing small business bookkeeping, payroll, accounting, financial management and QuickBooks ® services", (NACPB).
Members that want to become certified must take a series of three difficult exams. These ensure that the bookkeeper has the skills, knowledge and experience. The three sections of the exam are Accounting for Small Business, Financial Management for Small Businesses and Performing Bookkeeping and Payroll Services. After passing all, NACPB also verifies prior work knowledge in the appropriate discipline before designating the Certified Public Bookkeeper title.
Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor®
Certified QuickBooks® Pro Advisors have gone through a large body of concepts and procedures that review the entire software program. During the coursework there are many quizzes, with full exams being taken at the end of the three major sections. This verifies the person taking the course knows the program very well, which benefits you! The Pro Advisor title gives them accessibly to many resources Intuit supplies to keep abreast of the functions, and includes a listing in their directory, and full support.
The course is available each year when the new version becomes available.
A separate exam is taken to be certified in Intuit Point of Sale
Certified by Brainbench®, the leading testing authority for Business applications and eductionally software. Each exam is a difficult and random group of questions that test the knowledge of the program.
