"The Certified Public Bookkeeper (CPB) license is the most recognized and prestigious bookkeeper accreditation. The CPB is the equivalent in the bookkeeping profession to what the CPA is in the accounting profession.
The CPB license serves to protect the public interest by ensuring that only qualified individuals become licensed. This license provides assurance to small business and nonprofit owners and employees that CPBs are trusted and competent public bookkeepers. The license is the public bookkeeping profession's highest form of assurance." David Bybee, NACPB

After passing all, NACPB also verifies prior work knowledge in the appropriate discipline before designating the Certified Public Bookkeeper title.
